Odessa Man Arrested for Child Pornography

On 06/28/2006, Kelly Shane Hughes, age 42, of Odessa, Texas, was arrested under the authority of a federal arrest warrant. The warrant was based upon an indictment which charged Hughes with the possession of child pornography in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A. This offense carries a maximum penalty of ten years imprisonment.

Hughes’ arrest arose out of an investigation begun by the Odessa Police Department, which received assistance from the FBI. His arrest was made by the FBI, Odessa Police Department, and Ector County Sheriff’s Office.

The charge brought against Hughes is merely an accusation. He should be presumed to be innocent.
