Pittsburg homicide fugitive arrested

FBI agents, with the assistance of the El Paso Sheriff’s Department and University of Texas at El Paso Police, arrested a fugitive tonight near UTEP. Willie Harden Jr., 20 years of age, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was arrested for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.

Harden was wanted for two counts of attempted criminal homicide and three counts of aggravated assault from a March 14, 2008, shooting in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Harden, who has family in El Paso, had been seen in the area of UTEP. He was arrested without incident at the Wendy’s near UTEP.

Harden will be booked into jail on state Fugitive From Justice charges later this evening and will be turned over to state custody with no bond.
