Bank Robber Arrested
Ramon Adrian Aguirre, 22 years old, was arrested Saturday, April 12, 2008, for a March 17, 2008 bank robbery.
Aguirre turned himself in to agents of the El Paso FBI and Customs and Border Protection Saturday night at the Paso Del Norte Bridge. Aguirre is charged with one count of bank robbery (18 USC 2113) for the robbery of the Government Employees Credit Union (GECU), 11987 Rojas Drive, El Paso, Texas. This was the city’s third bank robbery of the year.
Aguirre’s initial appearance will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Richard Mesa. If convicted, Aguirre could face up to 20 years in prison.
